Breast- Feeding Protects Against Arthritis (New York Times-Newspaper)

A study in Sweden, suggested that another advantage of breastfeeding is that it reduces the risk of rheumatoid arthritis. The researchers compared about 136 women with rheumatoid arthritis, with 544 healthy women; with similar ages. The researchers found out that the women who breastfeed for 1 to 12 months reduced their risk of arthritis by 25%, and that those who breastfeed for more than year cut their risk in half.
